The Purple Heart Foundation

About the Purple Heart Foundation.

Most Americans are familiar with the Purple Heart. It is the oldest award still given to combat-wounded veterans of the U.S. military. The Purple Heart Foundation was chartered in 1957 as the fundraising arm of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and since then has developed a range of programs and services in their mission to enhance the quality of life for all veterans. Their work includes assisting veterans in securing VA benefits, pairing veterans with service dogs, and providing resources to cope with post-traumatic stress.
